Question i have 2 adults and 3 children. want to spend week driving from quayaquil to quito via cuenca and quilota loop. is it best to rent car in quayaquil or should we fly to cuenca and then drive. is it smart to hire a driver/guide?

From Guayaquil to Cuenca it is no too far, so it is fine to rent a car in Guayaquil. If you are first time in Ecuador it will be some difficult in the roads. You can ask for a driver in the same place you rent the car, it will be more expensive of course.
