Expert: Dr. Widad Ashurax - 10/24/2009
Question Hi Dr Widad,
Please, I would like to know about excursion suitable for children in the Children’s service Centre.
Please can you tell me why the excursion is appropriate for children? An example of Where you can go and why? How does this excursion can complement the children’s interests? which are the responsibilities of those involved? How many staff members can be involved? What will they do? what resources are required. What do you need to take? What resources do you need to organise? If possible which relevant records or documents those are required and please an example of permission and information note for parents.
Thank you for your help Dr Widad
Regard Emma
Answer Dear Emma:
Most children enjoy outdoor activities especially those that they add new information to their experience. Therefore, there are so many different excursions that can be planned to increase students’ curiosity, maturation level, education, and develop better attitude, and behavior toward things around them.
However, it is the responsibility of the center and the teachers involved to carefully plan any trip. Please check with your Children Services Center’s manual for restrictions, limitations, and permissions to certain excursions. Every center may have its own guidelines and rules pertaining to certain activities depending on the students’ age, health, physical, mental capabilities, family consents, and many other boundaries. Again, I strongly suggest that you ask one of the persons in charge in your center to better inform you and answer all your above stated questions to meet your center’s rules, procedures, and guidelines.
Good luck
