Question Hello,
I have been playing guitar for about 3 years and I am going to buy either a fender stage/showmaster the hsh version or a ibanez prestige hsh they both have what i want a hsh body style, a tremlo system and a 24 maple and rosewood neck. I was wanting your opinion to see which you think is better, or if there is any other guitars that you may know about that are similar that are even better I will be replacing the pickups with two 78 pickups and a sslpg. I am willing to spend 1000 or less thank you for all the help nic.
Answer Hello Nicolas,
Well, those are both good guitars, but they are a little different from each other as far as feel goes. Those Ibanez Prestige guitars have a super thin neck made for shredders. Are you going for the shred thing? If so, the Ibanez might be the better bet for you.
For more bluesy and other styles, I would suggest the Fender. It's more versatile.
There are a lot of other guitars with configurations that are similar. The list goes on forever... ESP, PRS, Carvin, Schecter, Charvel, etc...
One thing about those thin necks and Floyd Rose tremolos: They aren't the greatest for rhythm guitar. The frets are so giant that if you press down hard, your chords go out of tune. And those Floyd rose tremolos are so sensitive that if you play rhythm really hard, you can heard the tremolo "flutter."
But for shred, those thin necks can't be beat.
I really can't say for you. Both are fine guitars, and you just need to try them both out and see which one suits your hands and style better.
