Electric Guitars/serial no

Hi I just bought a vox bass guitar there is a serail no engraved at the back of the headstock which is 42790 can you please tell me where its made and the year thnx

Hey Ivan,

Thanks for writing! Vox serial numbers can be difficult to use for identification purposes. Using what I know about their guitar serial numbers, your bass was in the early 1960s (maybe 1963-64). It would be English made rather than Italian made. Can you send me an image of the bass so I can verify this? Let me know so stay in touch...Johnny
