Electric Guitars/magnum

hi what do you know about 1970s magnum guitars, made in Japan, hollow body model number 2001s.

Hey Harvey,

Thanks for writing! Magnum guitars made copies of well known American brands in the 1970s. They were well made and many were sold. However, after Gibson won their lawsuit against makers of "copy" guitars, companies like Magnum had to make slight alterations in their designs to avoid legal problems. Yours is Magnum's Gibson 335 copy. Is there a serial number inside the sound holes. This likes like is was made just after the lawsuit, which would be 1970-80 but it could be older. A serial number would help. Let me know and I'll try to get a date which would allow me to put a value on it. Write back....Johnny
