Question
I just heard the song "Fire On High", and I don't know if it is me, but it has a lot of similarities to Elton John's song "Funeral for a Friend/Loves Lies Bleeding". Did Jeff and Elton ever work together? Has anyone ever mentioned that these two songs have similarities? Thank You

Answer
I am not sure they have ever worked together. Jeff ran in the George Harrison, Tom Petty crowd.

About the songs being similar. This was the style for the early to mid 70s. Many many groups had songs that were long and had a lot of effects in them.

Jeff had the corner on it though. Give his first three LPs a listen. The second LP, ELO II had a lot of music like this. With long orchestrations and effects.

Take care,

Christopher...
