Expert: Will Date: 3/8/2008 Subject: converting 3 phase 415 to single phase 220
Question I purchased a john bean t6000 tire changer and did not realize it came with a 3 ph 415 motor and it cannot work where i am. How do i convert it to a single phase 220? do i need to chage the entire motor or is there an adaptor? will it reduce the power of the machine after the coversion? Thanks for your help in advance. Andy R.
Answer Andy you can get a single to three phase drive depending on the HP needed, let me know what that is, trying to to stick a single phase motor in there could be a bear.
Got any HP ratings or amp ratings? there is a way around this, I just need more specific power needs.
