Question
What is a centrifugal relay, and how do you troubleshoot one?

Answer
Its a relay or switch that is activated once a shaft its mounted on spins and at the rated speed, the mechanism shifts either opening or closing the swicth.
EG in a 1ph motor, the centrifugal mechanism inside the motor mounted on the shaft is pushed outwards thus closing the starting switch contacts.
Once the motor picks up seed , at approx 75% of rated speed the mechanism lifts  away from the contacs and opens the start wdg circuit.
