Question
GE ELECTRIC MOTOR MODEL 5KPM4966439 WIRE DIAGRAMINST REV
HP 1/20
RPM 3350/2780
V  120
AMP 0.58/0.77
HZ  60/50
PH  1  FTM
CONT CLASS B  AMB  40C
ROT INST REV
CAP 7.5 MFD
CODE  D
1 Green/Yellow Striped Wire (Ground)
1 Red
1 Blue
1 Yellow
Which one is the hot wire? I assume that the other 2 control the RPM of the motor.  Need to hook it up and test it.  Do not want to fry it by connecting the wrong wire.  Thanks Jack

Answer
This is my best guess. Connect the black line to one side of the capacitor. Connect the yellow to the same terminal. Connect the red to the other terminal of the capacitor. Connect the white line to blue. You do this at your own risk, as I cannot guarantee this will work.

Experience

I have 40 years experience in the repair of electric motors and related equipment. I am a master machinist in the field of motor repair. I was employed with my company for 35 years, but retired in May of 2013. The downside to that is I lost access to a lot of technical data. I will still try to give you the most accurate advice that I can.
