Question Sir, does anyone market a capacitor that could be plugged into a standard 110v outlet to capture energy spikes?
Answer Well, it takes more than a capacitor to "capture" energy spikes.
Tell me what conditions you are experiencing? I need to know if your live in an unstable power delivery environment, electrical storm area or what. Are you getting voltage rises or droops? Long or short? It makes a difference what is going on in order to determine what kind of line management you may need.
There are many types of line conditioners and power management tools that you can find online with a few google searches - or bing.com or any search engine. Try that and see if that provides you with some guidance as to what you may need.
but explain in more detail what the problem with your line is.
Hope this helps.

PS: I hope you are not confused by the adverts for power factor line balancing devices that plug into a household socket and claim to improve the performance of the line and lower the cost of your electricity and such. These are mostly spam and phony devices that do not meet the claims they offer.
