Question I want to design a electromagnet which can produce a magnetic field of 1T,is rectangular in shape, having dimensions of approximately 1m in length,10cm in height and 12cm in breadth, consuming as low power as it can consume.so what are the specifications required.Furthermore what is the magnetic field at a distance 'd' from electromagnet. Is it constant at any point situated at distance d
The above does not relate to the type of design you are asking about but the principles of how to proceed are good for your consideration.
The materials used, the size of the wire, the geometry of how the coil and core are configured, the metal surfaces around where the coil and other magnetic materials are located all have significant effect.
In your case, if you really mean a 1 meter shape it is pretty huge. What do you mean by a field strength of 1T? Is this a bar magnet you want to design? And what is its intended purpose or application? Usually, the field strength is given in maxwells or lines of force. And, usually there is a gap so the lines of force can be focused into a small volumetric space for increased intensity for the field location to interface with the induced object. Take for example the loudspeaker mechanism where the voice coil is embedded in the narrow circular gap between the pole piece and the magnetic circuit which keeps the field focused tightly into the gap for maximum transfer of induction into the moving coil.
The magnetic field strength cannot hold up greater than 6db down for each doubling of distance; and probably less due to leakage and field distortions caused by nearby metal objects.
Let me know more after your study. We can take it to a higher level once you know what to do.
