Electrical Engineering - sony projection tv

Question
First of all THANKS for helping me get my projection tv convergence problem resolved. I bought the parts and put them  in yesterday and you are right it was not easy. I have this other problem that was there before I worked on it. I have white horizontal lines th seem to come in waves from top to bottom on the screen. It doesn't do this on the dvd player, just on satellite. I've checked connections and all but I'm not finding it probably because I don't know what to look for. Again, thank you!

Answer
How about the vcr?  Do you have one that has rf output that you can connect to channel 3?  Or, if you are near a tv station, go to antenna input and, using a short piece of wire into the antenna input, see if you are getting it when going direct to the station.

Purpose of this is to find out if it is a problem with the tv or an interface problem with the Satellite system.

And, can be an rfi (radio frequency interference) problem with a motor in the house or a pc or even a wi-fi transmitter too close the the tv.

So, try pinning it down as to what may be causing it. I am thinking it is not the tv because lines from hum in the power supply and video synch type problems usually cause the lines to slowly move from bottom to top.

Let me know what you find.
