Question
Hi Cleggsan,

omega = 2 pi frequency
omega is radians / sec and frequency is cycles/ sec
cancel out the seconds leaves radians = cycles..does it make sense? How is radian measure = cycles? Thanks

Answer
Radians are just another way of expressing circular motion vectors.  See:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070410201828AAon4Dv

There it explains that f is in cycles/sec or Hertz and when multiplied by 2pi it becomes radians because 2pi times f = omega.

To explain it in further terms and great detail there is a nice 4 part mathematical explanation on youtube.

You may wish to view all 4 parts of these vidoes.

Hope this helps clear it up.
