3. Electric water purifiers use electric power; non-electric purifiers use gravity feed and porous filtration schemes. I suppose it depends a great deal on the type of impurities that one wishes to filter out.
Therefore, the selection of a water purifier will depend largely upon the type and level on various contaminants in the water and the rate of purification needed by the applicant.

The impurities can have a wide range of variables from chemical to salines to metals and to organic matter.
