Question
Dear Prof Cleggsan

Is it possible to design a elecronic panel for the Automotive Battery indicating the current Battery life with the charged level status to the Automobile driver ?.

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
It is not the thing to do.  Why? Automobiles of all kinds, now days, have automatic recharging systems that keep the battery fully charged as the vehicles is running.  The alternator connected to the engine has enough electrical output even with slow rpms of the engine.

Further, most automobiles do have battery indicators of one kind or another; even the newer cars which do not show the battery indicator have an flashing light or some warning indicator when the voltage or battery dips too low in voltage for a period of time.

So, in conclusion, the automobile manufacturers are a step ahead of you on this one!
