Electrical Engineering/Passbook printing machine.

Dear Prof Cleggsan

Do you feel that the passbook printing machine feature can be extended similar to ATM machine for passbook updates possible in all Banks?.

I know little about this field, sorry to say.

From a technical point of view I see no reason why these functionalities could not be combined.  But, it would employ banking protocols and interface that are somewhat esoteric compared to the mainstream software codes used in the printing tools trade.

It may be not so difficult from an engineering point of view but with the recent attention given to hacking of banks, government systems and big retailers it may be something that would require much investigations.

Further, I don't have any idea about this feature being demanded by banking customers.  It may require some field testing before the market would become evident.

Those are my thoughts.
