Question
Dear Prof Cleggsan

The Tape device can also be a Wireless device?.

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
Yes.

Seagate, a principle supplier of storage devices, both analog and digital, magnetic and optical makes a portable 500MB wireless storage tape drive that is intended for PC, Laptop, etc.  This device is a digital storage system.

This unit is a digital drive but not a tape media.  You will not find tape being used much anymore except in some high end back up systems for commercial usage.

Adding wireless capability to storage devices is not a technical matter but a design decision based on market need.

Hope this helps.
