Question
Dear Prof Cleggsan

Can Hydrocarbons mixture generate Automobile fuels?

Examples - Methane, Ethane,Propane,Butane,Pentane etc

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
This question is outside the range of electrical engineering and I have no expertise in this subject so I have no answer of any consequence for you.  You should seek other qualified fuel experts.

I do know, however, that in many countries of the world certain vehicle engines are converted to run on gases that you mentioned.  In Japan, for example, all taxi vehicles run on liquefied petroleum such as Propane by force of law in order to keep their emissions down low.

I have no further comments.
