Question
Hi.
I'm finishing my 4th year Electronic Engineering degree next year and have to do a final year project.

I've worked with the 8051 processor before and I was wondering if there was anyway to connect motion sensors to the processor in order to record the speed that an object is travelling at?

If so, where would I go about getting them?

Thanks alot,
Declan

Answer
I listed myself as being on vacation last week. Somehow the website didn't pick it up. Sorry.

There is a popular evaluation kit from Polaroid that includes their ultrasonic sensor, a PCB, and instructions. It has a voltage output. You'd need to add an A/D input circuit to the processor.

Hope this helps!

Dave
