Electrical Engineering - COMPLETE discharge

Expert: Dave Nyce - 2/5/2003

Question
Hi Dave,
The words printed on my rechargable battery(Ni-H) of panasonic says that
"for consideration please use the charger to completely discharge the battery".
My question is very simple.
If I run out of the electricity of the battery,
does this means so-called "complete discharge"?
Thanks

Answer
Yes, if the battery no longer provides power, it has "complete discharge". But, if you are going on  a trip or for some other reason you want to get a full charge before the battery has been fully discarged, the charger can complete the discharge cycle before charging it up again.

Hope this helps!

Dave
