Question How do I convert fractional Amp ranges to decimal Amperages and not risk the integrity of the circuit, i.e., 1/8 amp ceramic fuse can be substituted by __ ?
Answer I'm not sure that I understand your question. For a 1/8 amp fuse, you can use one rated for .125 amp. If there is only one available for .1 or .15 amps, then you can use the .15 amp fuse. (That is: next one higher, if it is not too much higher.) If you can not find one that is close, then you can not safely substitute the other amp rating. Make sure that the delay type is the same. (AGC, fast acting, slo blow, etc.)
If you use a fuse rating that is lower than the original, the fuse may blow when there is not a problem. If you use a fuse rating that is more than 20% higher than the original, it may not protect adequately in the case of a fault.
