Motors and generators come in many, many sizes, shapes and designs.  They are used in everything from microminiature subsystems to large power systems. They range is size from a few micrograms to thousands of Kgrams.

Please refer to a text book on basic principles if you are looking for formulae.

There are many designs, many applications, many uses.  Too broad for a simple discussion such as we do here on this site.

You can learn much from a google search on your topics.
