Question
what will happen if we provide dc to a bulb instead of ac?

Answer
If it is an incandescent lamp and you apply the same voltage it will make no difference.

If it is a florescent lamp or some other type that requires a starting mechanism it will not work properly on dc.

Any lamp/bulb that is purely resistive (a tungsten filament, for example) will behave the same with dc as it does for ac.
