Electrical Wiring in the Home/constantly flickering lights
Expert: Bob Sponaugle - 1/4/2008
QuestionI have noticed that my indoor lights are constantly flickering. The home was built in the 50's but it appears that the fuse box was upgraded to accomodate a central air conditioning unit. Anyway, other than changing sockets and switches throughout the house what other steps are necessary to correct this problem.
Thanks for help,
Joe
AnswerHi.
I doubt if changing the sockets and switches will help. Some flickering may be normal. If you have excessive flickering, you may have a loose neutral somewhere between the street and your panel box. There may also be a problem with the power coming into your house.
Your first step is to check with the power company, since they will fix it if it is their fault.
I hope this helps.
