Subject: 3 way with ceiling fans

Question
I have two ceiling fans with lights in my living room.  we are remodeling the room and have the drywall off.  i would like to install dimmers to control the light and fan speed separately and need to have switches on opposite walls.  i currently have 12-2 + gr.  could you explain how i need to wire this?

Answer
Where ever your power comes to this circuit, start with that box.  You need a 3way dimmer for the lights...only one.  I dont think you can get a 3way fan control.  You feed the first light switch with power,  YOu have 12/3 going from switch to switch.  From the 12/3 s to s the white wire goes to the lite wires for the fans.
