Question I have installed a ceiling fan and want to wire it into a 3 way switch, I have wired it up every type of configuration and have not caused a fire, I have a black and a white w/ tape and a red w/ tape from what I can understand the tape signifies a traveler in a 3 way circuit, but how can I wire up my fan in this scenario or is it even possible?
Answer Hi Brian,
Weather you can do this will depend on several factors. There are probably 10-15 possible scenarios.
I do not have graphic diagrams to show you but I can recommend you going to this site to start.

There are several sites that show you diagrams of the various ways to wire 3/way switches. Check these sites to see which one matches your wiring circumstances.
I hope this has helped. If you need additional information please send me a follow-up question.
Thanks and have a nice day,
Benny
