Question QUESTION: Dear Bob,
I was mowing the lawn this morning using an electrical mower, and at one time I re-adjusted the height of the rear wheels to a lower position. The mower jammed as I pushed the mower through the tall grass. I unplugged the mower, cleaned it up, plugged it in again and found there's power from the outlet anymore (I tried with a working radio and proved it's the outlet having no power). I went to the circuit breaker, moved each switch to off and then on again, still no power. There's power in the rest of the house though. What could have happened? Please help.
Thanks,
Wayne
ANSWER: Hi.
There should be one outlet in the house that has a test and reset button that controls other outlets in the house. This outlet would either be in a bathroom, basement, garage, or outside. Once you find it, press the reset button. If you can't find it, look behind things in the garage and basement, since it can get hidden.
I hope this helps.

QUESTION: Bob,
The only outlets that have a test and reset button are the one in the kitchen and the bathroom, the one that has no power is in the garage. I tried resetting all of them and nothing changed. One interesting I found is that there are 4 outlets in the garage, only 2 of them have no power.
Thanks,
Wayne
Answer Hi.
The kitchen ones are supposed to be on their own circuit, so you can rule that out.
If there are outlets not working in the garage, it is probably related. There still may be another GFCI that you did not find. Or there is a break in the wiring. The break in the wiring would be hard to find, since most GFCI circuits snake all around the house. You would have to check the connections, and the problem could be at a working outlet, since it could be the wire leaving that outlet that is not making contact.
I hope this helps.
Bob
