Question Hi! I have an old house which has a circuit tripping the breaker. It happens intermittantly whether there's anything plugged in or not,or any load draw on circuit. We've checked/replaced any faulty outlets but problem not fixed! My gas wall space heater is on the same circuit, and problem didn't start until heater turned on in fall.Took the motor to shop,no shorts-weak but o.k.-,the circuit tripped even with mo. out! Please let me know what to do next, thanks,Ray
Answer Hi.
You can try replacing the breaker, and see if the breaker is weak. That doesn't happen often, but it is going to be hard to find the problem, since it doesn't happen all the time. It could be anywhere in the circuit. You can try to disconnect parts of the circuit and see if you can isolate the problem that way.
I hope this helps.
Bob
