Electrical Wiring in the Home/reinstallation of Viking sauna
Viking Sauna……BTR 4……serial # 0790857330
Control Panel 300-SE 240 V 2 contactor circuit
Trying to located complete wiring diagram
Electrician needs to know if the elements are 14 amps each
or 14 amps total ( combined )??
Why is wire coming down to contractor #10 while the other
wires are #12 and #14 ??
Connection Box in sauna…contractor on left has only 2 wires ??
According to the name plate it should be 14 amps total.
The wires going to the contactor have to travel a great distance, plus they carry the whole load of your sauna. This is why they are larger.
Two wires because you have single phase at your home.
You have a one hour timer controlling the first contactor, and a thermostat controlling the second contactor.
So your power comes in at the first contactor and sits there waiting for the timer to be turned on. Once the timer is turned on the power moves to the second contactor and sits there waiting for the thermostat to call for heat.
Once the thermostat calls for heat it closes the second contactor and power is sent to your heaters.
Both contactors are controlled by 110 volts (one leg of your 220 and the neutral).
