Electrical Wiring in the Home/problem in light

we have tried to change the switch in the kitchen but failed and now we noticed that the light in the pantry and the light above the kitchen sink are not turning on unless the main kitchen lights are on as well. Before the change, the light above the sink and the in the pantry function individually with their own light switch, and now it doesn't work.

Pablo,  you say you  TRIED TO change a light in the kitchen  and  FAILED   how so explain fail..

In these cases many times what seems simple turns out not to be,    for example,  the person before you put the wrong switch in    you tried another switch which should have been right but the person before wired around a problem   some way,

Did you put the old switch back in the kitchen?  And if so,   does that fix the other problems?

Often a kitchen switch can be a three way or four way,   and by trying to put a dimmer or single pole switch in,    it can cause the rest of the circuits to act up,

I really need more details,      why the attempted change of switch,  what EXACTLY FAILED,

Next  before replying   go check your circuit breaker,  see if any breakers have tripped,  if so try to reset,  if they trip again  right away,   you probably should get professional help  but let me know what you find and what happens,

ALSO  LOOK FOR ANY GFCI OUTLETS<     these are the outlets often found in kitchens that are used around water  like kitchens and bathrooms,  these can trip and cause all kinds of problems,

Next you can also try thecircuitdetective.com     he has a preprinted diagnostic tree you can use to save time,  and then get back to me on specifics,

The problem started on the switch change out that failed,     somewhere in there   is probably the root cause,       tripped breaker,  tripped  GFCI,  wire left loose,    many things that could have happened,   but try putting it back and then check your breakers and reset any GFCI outlets you might have,

Then get back to me as soon as possible,   my computer crashed so I am working off a borrowed computer   so I am not as fast getting back as I want  but I will get back

LOOK FOR THE SIMPLE STUFF<          it always seems more complex        I do it myself,
