Electrical Wiring in the Home/ceiling light

QuestionI am having trouble,when I run the wire from the breaker to the switch to the light,I can not turn the light on and off.And if I try it again I blow the breaker,my question is what am I doing wrong?
AnswerWhite wire is wirenutted in the switch box. Then the white wire goes to the white wire on the light. Black wire from the breaker to 1 of the 2 switch terminals. Black wire from the light wirenutted to the black wire going to the switch which then goes on the other terminal. Jeff
