Electrical Wiring in the Home/christmas lights

Question
A string of my mini christmas lights are not working. I have a bulb tester and every bulb seems to be good. So how do I test the sockets to see where the problem might be?

Answer
Hello Jeffery, this is very difficult to do. The sockets are so small it is almost impossible to get a set of meter leads into the socket without touching them together, which will cause a dead short. That is the only way to be sure a socket has power, if you can get to the metal portion of the socket to test for voltage. Thanks for asking, J
