Electrical Wiring in the Home - connecting switches and reseptacles

Question
When wiring a switch or receptacle, should the screw terminals be used or the quick slid holes? Which method is safer?

Answer
Both are equally safe. Usually if the wire fits in the slide holes we put it there, however if the switch would fail that means cutting the wire off, which eventually could lead to no wire without adding wire. Pretty much a personal preference. Jeff
