Question I have 220 wiring running to my back yard for a spa that I've since removed. I need some additional 110 outlets. Can I convert the 220 wiring into 110 outlets?
Answer Hello Kenny. The first thing to check is the ground that was ran to the spa. Be sure it is connected to the neutral bar. If not, move it to the neutral bar. Next, remove the double pole breaker that fed the spa and replace it with two single pole breakers. Attach the two wires that were connected to the double breaker, one to each of the single pole breakers and use the new neutral that was the original spa ground on the spa for each of the new circuits, and this will give you two new 120 volt circuits with a common neutral. Thanks for asking, if I can assist further let me know, J
