Electrical Wiring in the Home/crazy
Expert: Bob Thompson - 12/14/2004
QuestionHi. This is going to sound crazy but the other day while my roommate was vacuuming in the living room I heard a radio station broadcast form one of the electrical outlets in the kitchen (outlets were on completely opposite walls). I've heard the radio before in that location when the dishwasher was running. I've also heard it in the office upstairs. I've also heard it in the office upstairs. And the garage.
Am I crazy? I'm not hearing voices and I can distinctly trace the sound to the wall in the kitchen. What may be the cause of this? Bugging device? Short circuit? Have you heard of this before?
Thank you. Really I'm not loony! I hope. :)
AnswerThis is a new one on me Michelle. Was there a radio playing in the living room, and possibly your house is wired in conduit? Maybe the sound carried through the pipe like you might hear it through air conditioning ducts. I don't know and couldn't really speculate unless I was there seeing it for myself.
