Question
Dear ZZ

Is it possible to design Portable Electric Hot plate for cooking which is battery operated?.

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
It is a wonderful idea.  However, the electrical requirements just don't produce a practical solution.

The science of the hot plate is simple. for a cooking surface you need up to 1500w of heat dissipation.  If you check the specifications on typical electric powered plates they are rated at 1500w for full power and 750w for half power. Some of them have warming settings which are maybe 250w.

In any case the current requirements from a 12v battery would be 125 amps or more.  This type of power is even greater than an automobile battery can produce for more than a few minutes.

So, it is not a practical idea. Sadly.
