Question
Dear ZZ

Is it practical to design integrated circuit with odd number of pins?.

This will take the shape as Triangle, Pentagon, Septagon, Nonagon etc for the Integrated Circuit.

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
There are standard packages used in the industry for which designs are readily accepted for most applications:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_integrated_circuit_packaging_types

To design an IC that does not conform to the standard configuration runs up the cost and length of the design and fabrication cycle.

But, theoretically, a designer can use complete freedom in selecting the final product specifications.
