Question
For a given voltage, four heating coils will produce maximum heat, when connected as
(a). All in parallel
(b). All in series
(C). With two parellel pairs in series
(d). One pair in parellel with the other two in series.

To answer this question it must be assume the heating coils are all the same and are rated for the same voltage as the given voltage in your question.

The answer is a) all in parallel.

It can be easily proven by using ohms law and power dissipation.

P = current times voltage in each heating coil. Where current is equal to voltage/resistance.
