Question
Dear ZZ

Can we share Fax machine as a networking device?
If yes, are there benefits?

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
For fax hardware machines it is quite difficult because it requires interface into the fax internal software and a system that speaks the standardized fax format coding.  For software driven fax implementations which reside on a PC or laptop or smartphone just about anything can be done because it is all in software.  There are many apps that mimic fax communications.

There are also fax services for those who wish to send and receive fax messages but do not have a machine.  They are such as Jfax. eFax or Myfax.

Are there benefits?  Not much that I can think of.
