Question Hi, my 4 year old son (birthday was Nov. 11) loves his new V-Smile computer that hooks up to our t.v. I noticed last night that he is a whiz at doing math on the computer -- e.g. 7 - __ = 3 -- he would get these kind of problems and answered them in seconds. He must have answered more than 20 -- and didn't get one wrong. I know he doesn't know math because when I asked him the problem - he stated the wrong answer. Can you explain this type of visual capability to me. Thank you so much.
Answer Hello Mary-Anne,
I'm sorry but I am unfamiliar with that program. Usually,on preschool math programs there are picture sets. This enables the child to visually see the number ....for example a set of 7 fish of which 4 swim away leaving how many? The next time your son is working on this math program follow along with him to see how the problem is presented. Have fun together.
