Question Hi, thanks in advance for answering this tough and probably fruitless question.
Ellington and Strayhorn wrote a set of 12 for the band known as the SST Suite, or at least I think that's it. It includes, as SST IX (#9) Star-Crossed Lovers, a beautiful ballad. I was wondering if that had ever been arranged for piano and, if so, where it would be possible to buy it.
Also, more realistically, is there a good CD of many or all of the SST suite?
Thanks again for your help.
David
Answer Hello David...The suite in question is the Such Sweet Thunder one, available on the cd by Sony/Columbia in the Columbia Legacy series CK 65568, it contains all 12 tracks plus another 10 bonus tracks. At the time of writing this email the disc is available on both Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.
As for the arrangement for piano I am afraid I can't help you there.
