Question
QUESTION: Hi Lorry,
The problem is I click on my email page, I see my page already logged in, and in a second I get kicked off.
I know it’s not the site because I can access my email account with another computer.
I downloaded all updates but it didn’t make a difference.
I uninstalled and reinstalled my security, Norton 360.
I’ve restarted after every time I did something.
I don’t know that much about computers.

Intel R Core 2 CPU
Windows XP
Media center edition
Version 2002
Service pack 3

Any ideas as to what I can try next?
Thank you,
Randy

ANSWER: Hi Randy,

Even though you have Norton 360 installed, try this.

Using Internet Explorer, go to:

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.

Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/  and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.

I would also suggest downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware  from:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Actually I would try using Malwarebytes first, make sure youupdateit before running a scan.

Hope this helps!

QUESTION: Hi Lorry,
it doesn't eem to want to run. in the bottom left it says
error on page.
Randy

ANSWER: Hi Randy,

Which is giving you the error, Symantec or Malwarebytes? Is it giving any error number, what does it say exactly or does it just say error on page?

In Internet Explorer, goto Tools, Internet Options, under the General tab click Delete under Browsing History, in the next window check Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History, click Delete.

Let me know if that helps,
Lorry

QUESTION: Hi Lorry,
Yes, deleting those things seemed to help.

Symantec, bottom left, "done, but with errors on page"
Security Scan
hacker exposure, windows vulnerability, antivirus prpduct, and virus prptecton are all green
Trojan Horse is in red

Virus Detection
22k files and still running. I'll lt you know when it's done. nothing detected so far.

Malwarebytes ran and then closed and the comp restarted unexpectedly.
Thank you Lorry. I hope this works.
Randy

Answer
Hi Randy,

Finish the Symantec scan without running anything else, do not run any programs while running the scan - it will go faster. If Symantec finds anything, am guessing that it will, either go to the following site and do a search for it or let me know and I'll find it for you.

http://searchg.symantec.com/search?site=symc_en_US&client=symc_en_US&output=xml_...

Here's something that will make it easier, download the free 30 day trial of Norton AntiVirus from:

https://shop.symantecstore.com/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayPage&Env=BASE&Locale=en_US&SiteID=symnahho&id=QCShoppingCartPage

Make sure you tell them before the 30 days are up that you are not interested or you will be charged for it.

Let me know what happens,
Lorry
