Question QUESTION: I received an email from a sender that I regularly accept email from (a client). Attached to the email was a jpeg file containing my temporary internet files. How could this happen? There were other attachments in this email that I would normally receive from them (zip files with MSWord docs) but how did my temp internet files end up there?
ANSWER: Hello Lynn!
Thanks for your question!
I took it from the pool!
Please explain: "jpeg file containing my temporary internet files" as it's not clear to me what you mean here since jpeg files are pictures and pictures cannot contain other files. (this is technically impossible).
Please explain it a bit further what you mean.
Thanks in advance!
All the best!
Bye!

QUESTION: Sorry about that! The file name of the attachment is image001.jpg. When I open the file, the Windows Pictures and Fax Viewer opens and in that there are many files, some .jpg, some .gif, some .png. It took me a while and some internet research to figure out what those weird little images were. I finally realized they were my own temporary internet files. I have not deleted the email. I opened the attachment yesterday afternoon and this morning, and it contains slightly different images compared to yesterday. So, it seems to be pulling fresh images every time I open it.
My husband says he has seen this happen on his computer at work and on our laptop. I researched this on the internet, and it seems to be this 'thing' that happens once in a while and so far, I have run across no one who knows how it happens.
Thanks!
ANSWER: Hello Lynn,
what you see is most likely your own files in the temporarily internet folder on your hdd as this is the place files from the internet (pictures while you open homepages,e.g.) are saved.
Of course the contents of this folder changes as you browse the internet :)
Hope this helps!
All the best!

QUESTION: Yes, but how do the files become attached to an incoming email. Is this possibly caused by a virus?
Answer Hello again, you wrote it was just one jpg so maybe it got accidently attached to there. it could be a virus yeah, so scan for it but I guess it was probably just accidently. or a malfunction of outlook express.
