Question
My husband was hired as 100% commission to sell cabinetry for a small business in NV.  He sold a job and was owed $1000. The owner let him go but said he could run jobs through his office as an independent.  This was over a month ago and my husband has not yet received the commission due him.  He stops by the office and calls regularly and keeps getting put off.  The owner says he is cash strapped and does not have the money yet.  Do we have any recourse?

Answer
You can either file a claim with the Nevada department of labor for unpaid wages, yes commissions are wages.

Or

You can take him to small claims court and file for unpaid wages. It cost around 75.00 for court fees. It is generally faster this route.
