Question
I was told by my human resource director that my union was wrong for not doing anything for me if i felt i was being harassed by my store manager, then he said and they know they were wrong. I was thinking if he knew i was being harassed himself why didn't he do something about it himself? This all started over a comment my manager made to a black women and i wrote my human resource manager and told him about the comment made. Since i wrote that letter I've had my day off changed and I'm being told i have to be crossed trained to be a cashier. I've been with this company for 15 years and i know what they do to someone when they make them cashiers. I been seeing my doctor for a little over a year for anxiety and depression and was let them know that i have a  but was suggested that may backfire on me, assuming they will use that to say  not performing my job because of my disability. All because i wrote a letter stating my boss's comments. Which were and i quote him YOUR AND ANIMAL AND BELONG BACK IN THE WOODS' He also threatened her if she didn't leave the store right away.I been stressing out since that day and have used 3 sick days due to the stress I'm under at work. Can you suggest what i do next? Thanks for any help you can give me

Answer
Joe:

If can file a complaint with the EEOC or your state's Human Rights Commission if you're a member of a protected class; i.e., female, disabled, a minority, over 40, etc.  You may also be able to file a civil action via a private attorney if your state allows it.
