Employment Law - Who inestigates HR managers?
Expert: Thomas R. Ballas - 10/28/2009
Question I filed a grievance for wages after an argument. Next days later I went to a 2pm Doc app, and provided a note. The following day I was suspended 3days w/o pay, note of poor work performance, and bumped in the attendance program. HR stated I had told my super that I was leaving at 2 for my 2pm doc app. while suspended the super made several comments about the situation, and I asked for a investigation. Next day after I told HR who told me what was said the person who had the conversation was fired for supposedly changing the date on a doctors note. Hr told me the investigation was closed because my witness was terminated. Who do I go to if HR is impeding the process?
Answer Mr. Brown:
The only thing you can do if you think HR is not fairly investigating is take the issue to the President or CEO of the Company. On the pay issue, if you think you have worked but not received pay, you can file a claim with the state. Go to your state's website and look under employment for direction on how to do so.
