Question hello,
my question is i am on salary at this time and my supervisor is upset that i am going back to school. my gm is going to school during the day and i am going at night, because she will be working some nights since she is going to school. my reason to go to school at night so someone would be there during the day. he said he had to think about it that he may take me off salary and put me back to hourly leaving me with no insurance. only salary managers can get insurance. my gm worked only 15 to 20 hours her first year of school when i worked 50 to 55 hours. so my question is can he do this without informing of his decision? they are really giving me a hard time about this. it is fast food. but, i don't know where to go from here. the way they are having me work they not. thanks giving me time to study. i don't know where to turn
Answer Any employer at any time can make any employee hourly. It does not matter what job you do the employer can pay you hourly. There are no restrictions on paying an employee hourly.
There are restrictions on paying an employee as an exempt salaried employee.
