Question
hi, i work for kfc gb, i am a duty manager, for a few weeks now me and the 3 other duty managers at our store aren't being paid properly. we have 2 clock in code which are code 2 for direct shifts payed at £6 per hour, the other is code 3 which is for shift running paid at £6.40 per hour. the assistant manager at the store is changing all of our code 3 shifts to code 2 which is cutting our pay by 40p per hour and is clocking us out a few hours early per week, i know this is not much and i know for a fact it is not right, i have spoken to my store manager and he doesn't seem to be concerned at all, we seem to think it may be him who told the assistant manager to do this, we are all really unhappy about it but cannot afford to leave, is there anything we can do about it as it becoming really regular and really unfair, please help.
thanks
regards

Answer
You can contact ACAS at Acas helpline: 08457 47 47 47. They will help you decide the best way to handle your problem.

Acas website is at ;http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461

The Government is also providing Acas (the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) with funding to boost its ability to offer employers and employees early conciliation for problems which are potential employment tribunal claims.

This early conciliation service (or “Pre-Claim Conciliation”, or PCC for short) is a free service for both employers and employees in appropriate circumstances. It is delivered via a network of Acas conciliators across Great Britain. Disputes that employees and employers have been unable to resolve by other means (such as internal grievance, discipline or appeal procedures) and which are likely to give rise to an employment tribunal claim if third party help is not provided, may be suitable for early conciliation.

The Acas helpline advisors will be able to identify whether a particular case is suitable for referral to the pre-claim conciliation service, and if so, will put the parties in touch with a conciliator.
