Hello
I live in Ontario Canada
Recently my employer changed my status from contractor to a full time permanent position. With this change in status I also received a pay decrease but other than a casual conversation with my team lead no other information was provided on how my salary would change. This was a change in status and not a new hire process.
What are the requirements when deceasing an employee's salary.


Answer
If you were a contractor before and you are now an employee it was not just a status change.

You were not an employee before so you now become a newly hired employee.

Change in salary is common from contractor to employee. contractor's run their own business and have business expenses, they charge more than employees.

Yes, your salary will be less as an employee, but you will also receive employee benefits that you did not receive as a contractor. The employee/employer relationship does not link to the Contractor relationship.

When you are hired as an employee you became a new hire at the salary the company agrees to pay you as an employee.
