Question Is it legal that my employer is taking my paycheck on payday(a Friday) to an offsite area where a company function(picnic) is being held to the point that it is mandatory I attend in order to get my paycheck? If i do not attend not only will i not have my paycheck but i will have to wait to get it until the following Monday due to people not in the office over the weekend.
Answer If you do not wish to attend the function you can go pick up your paycheck and leave or you can wait until monday to receive it. You may also ask the employer to mail it to you or if direct deposit is available have it directly deposited into your bank.
If this is an every payday occurrance there could be a problem, but if it only happens once in a while it would not be considered a problem.
